MINISTRIES

At Ashland Place, we believe children are born with an innate sense of wonder and faith that is real and authentic. Our role is to provide a foundation of experiences on which children build a life of learning and growth toward faith in Jesus Christ. We also believe in having a lot of fun! You can reach Samantha at children@apumc.com.

Our Youth Group includes 6th – 12th graders, providing a place of fellowship and growth where we can connect with God, with each other, and with the community.  It is our desire that everyone involved may encounter Christ and grow in faith together in discipleship to God. SUNDAYS @ 10:00 A.M.
Our faith is built one step at a time, by how we come to understand Jesus Christ.  Many times we think that our faith can be just a personal experience.  However, our faith is enriched when we spend time with others and we study about God through Bible study. Sunday School gives us the opportunity to hear God’s word and share our stories of faith. Classes to suit all ages available.

BIBLE

STUDIES

Some say the Bible is God’s instruction book, but really…it’s a love letter. You see, God loves humanity and He communicated it in this series of books we call the Bible.  The primary reason we need to study God’s word is that is challenging to understand the cultures of the ancient world. Once they are decoded for us, the lessons are crystal clear, and we see fleshed out what God wants us to be. Check out all of our discipleship opportunities!

The Music Ministry of Ashland Place is a diverse collection of musical ensembles whose styles are as varied as the worship services themselves. Our Traditional service is home to our Chancel and Handbell choirs, while our Ascension service offers the high-energy music of a live praise band. Children’s Choir is open to Children enrolled in K3 – 5th Grade.  To volunteer in our Ascension service, contact Jon Miller at millermediaonline@gmail.com. To volunteer in our traditional services, contact Alicia Luttrell at musicdirector@apumc.com

Our Prayer Shawl ministry meets every Tuesday morning at 10:00 in the Parlor by the Fellowship Hall to create blankets and shawls meant to bring comfort to the wearer and an awareness of God’s  presence in times of distress and moments of great joy.  The Prayer Shawls are blessed with prayer by the ladies who make them, our ministers, and the congregation of Ashland Place.
