Are you planning to visit Ashland Place United Methodist Church?
Perhaps you have questions about worship, logistics, children or youth. We want to help make your first visit comfortable and worshipful.
The sanctuary is located on the Wisteria Avenue side of our campus. Our worship services are held at 8:30 and 11:00. Our seating capacity is around 250 people. The style of the sanctuary is English and the stained glass windows are stunning. You may sit wherever you like. Generally, our Senior Pastor, Chip Hale, preaches the first three Sundays of the month and our Associate Pastor, Brennan Peacock preaches the fourth Sunday of the month. On the first Sunday of each month, we offer Holy Communion and our table is open to everyone. Our congregation is friendly and helpful to those who visit. The service style is formal but with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Church members dress in what they are most comfortable wearing. You will find a wide range; some men wear jackets while others wear golf shirts, shorts are usually not seen. Women wear dresses or slacks. Sundresses are common in the summer.
There is no dress code of any kind. We usually refer to the attire of Ashland Place as from jackets to jeans.
Parking and Drop Off
Parking spaces are around the back of the church. There is ample handicap accessible parking. If the weather is inclement, we have a covered drop off area on the east side of the church.
Between the two services there is a greeting time in the Fellowship Hall located at the rear of the church with doughnuts and coffee. Our friendly members will be glad to direct you to a Sunday School Class or answer any questions you may have.
There are restrooms throughout the Fellowship Hall on both the first and second floor and also in the Sanctuary at the bottom of the steps in the basement.
Sunday morning programs are available for all ages. If you have children or youth, we welcome them to participate in our age level programs.
We practice Safe Sanctuary policies for all our children and youth
The Nursery is located off the main hall for infants through 4 years old.
The Children‘s department is in the Education Building immediately behind the sanctuary
The Youth meet in the newly renovated youth area located in the basement of the church.
Adult Sunday School classes for all ages are located throughout the Fellowship Hall building.
The mission statement of Ashland Place United Methodist Church is built on the theme of joy. This church is a happy and accepting place of worship, and we hope you will come! In your worship visit with us, we believe you will have the opportunity to meet God and to make new friends.
